Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè (/rëˈʃɪvɪ/ /jiˈjèna/ [risky] [celebrity]) is a subtropical Town located in the Vapíatacê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè was founded by Zlêlêl Êrê Dyëkdsm, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè receives an average of 224 cm/y (88 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 5 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 5848 m (19186 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 13th century in summer of the year 1223, by Zlêlêl Êrê Dyëkdsm. The establishment of Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive baked earthen streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè’s streets. A look around Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s everything together. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè long.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

A substantial minority of the locals are descended from foreigners alien to their local neighbors. They may have been religious exiles, economic migrants, indigenous locals surrounded by the existing polity, or a foreign settlement conquered within the relatively recent past. The locals may not be enthusiastic about being ruled by others not of their kind, and their neighbors may look askance at the way foreign customs or even laws may be maintained.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by their massive, monolithic and 'blocky' appearance with a rigid geometric style. It was best known for its rough, unfinished surfaces, unusual shapes, heavy-looking materials, straight lines, and small windows. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole.

The Eel Hound near Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Mëg-yiyèna Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves sex to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 3 via recitation of poetic epics.

Economy
